As the school summer term begins next week, Independent Cleaning Services (ICS) has been contracted to Outwood Grange Academies Trust, taking over the cleaning services for 11 of the 41 Trust schools, both primary and secondary, across Wakefield, Pontefract, Doncaster, Sheffield, and Scunthorpe.

With schools and academy trusts free to source their own cleaning services, ICS has established itself as a first-rate and cost-effective service for educational establishments over the last 20-plus years.

The East Yorkshire-based firm, with its head office in Neptune Street, Hull, is employing 60+ staff on the 11 school contracts, working under a highly experienced management team. The contract is for 900 weekly cleaning hours, and includes 80 vacuums, more than 300 mopping buckets, 11 carpet machines and multiple specialised cleaning equipment based at each school.

Chris Turner, Managing Director for ICS, said: “We are delighted that our excellent track record has now secured us further cleaning contracts within 11 schools. We constantly strive to deliver the very best service and work closely with the leadership of the schools to make sure our teams deliver exactly what their requirements are.

“It is clearly tantamount that educational establishments where children and young people are present are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness. As such our teams work hard to deliver that and our track record in the education sector is strong. We are delighted to be working with these new schools and have been working hard over the Easter break to deep clean the schools ahead of the new school term.”

Andrew Wright, Site Supervisor at Outwood Primary Academy Lofthouse Gate, commented: “I just wanted to say how much of an amazing job the ICS team have done with deep cleaning at OPA Lofthouse Gate over the Easter break. The whole academy now looks fantastic and everywhere smells so fresh and clean after all their hard work!”

Toni Hardy, Site and Compliance Coordinator – Primary, for the Outwood Grange Academies Trust, added: “I want to echo Andrew’s message, the academies have not looked this good in a long time. I have seen Lofthouse Gate, the academy is gleaming, along with Ledger Lane and Park Hill. The teams in the academies have been amazing, the existing staff seem like a new calmer team already. The communication has been second to none, and I want to thank the ICS team for keeping us updated throughout the whole transition period.”
