Following the loss of a well-loved colleague in 2015, the team at ICS Cleaning established the annual Theresa Keelty Shining Star Awards in her memory. Since then, the awards have become a cherished tradition, recognising team members across the business who consistently demonstrate excellence in their roles.

Theresa Keelty dedicated many years to ICS Cleaning, rising through the ranks to become an Area Manager. She was based predominantly at the company’s head office in Neptune House, Hull. Her warmth, leadership, and commitment left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Christine Turner, Managing Director of ICS Cleaning, shared:
“Theresa was a very well-loved and central character of our team, and her loss was devastating to us all. We are proud to keep her memory alive within the business, and this year we are delighted to present her award to members of our cleaning staff from our regional hubs who have shown excellence in their roles.”

The 2024 Theresa Keelty Shining Star Award winners are:

Since joining ICS in November 2024, Alison Farrington has quickly made a name for herself at a busy office premises in Pontefract. Despite being relatively new to the role, Alison has already had a big impact, with the customer regularly sending emails to express their appreciation for her dedication and exceptional service. Alison consistently goes the extra mile to ensure everything runs smoothly on site.

Tracey Gibson Wood also shared her appreciation:
“Alison is an extremely valued member of the team. She stepped in and hit the ground running, taking charge from day one and making significant improvements to the standards on site. The staff and customer absolutely love her. She always gives 100 percent, and we are proud of her excellent efforts.”

Gail Wilson has stepped into the role of temporary Cleaning Supervisor at Hull Trinity House Academy in Beverley, and she’s making a significant impact. Gail consistently goes above and beyond in her duties, taking on new training, organising cover, managing stock orders, and maintaining strong communication with the customer when required.

Her manager, Claire Craven, shared high praise:
“Gail is a well-respected member of the team. Both the customer and staff think very highly of her. She has stepped into this temporary role with ease and handles any issues that arise. Gail is an asset on site and always strives to do more.”

The final Shining Star Award for 2024 goes to Susan Brodie

Susan joined us in early 2022 and has consistently gone above and beyond in her dual role — both site-based a mobile cleaner. Her dedication, reliability, and outstanding work ethic have made a significant impact across all the sites she supports.

Joanne Cottrell, Susan’s manager, shared:
“Susan will always go out of her way to help. She’s constantly checking in to see if I need any support or if any sites need covering. She just gets on with the job without any fuss.”
